And it fits a standard size school folder just fine. {He has not needed to carry anything bigger for school. It might not fit a 3 ring binder - I haven't tried.} He also has room for extras like his sweatshirt or his show & tell item. He takes a Skip Hop Zoo Insulated Lunch Bag to school - and it fits just fine in the insulated cooler part. So, I just end up not using it and put everything in the front cooler.
